when i lowered the car today as have put 15s on it i found to get same ride height left to right i had to wind the adjuster all the way down on the rh rear side and put some tension on the lh spring and visa vera on the front.
even with it fully wound down the rh rear is still slightly higher(about 2-3mm) than lh side. and same with front .
is this normal?

I wouldn't say that's normal but mine is a little uneven.
But what do you mean by tension in the spring? And are you measuring to the guard or ground clearance?

with car up on the jack the lh rear i screw up the rings until they put tension on spring where as the rh side the rings are screwed all the way downwards so spring isnt captive.
yeah measuring from ground to top of guard.

So you're having to preload the spring to match height all around, whereas if you set the springs to be just captive against the locking collar all around the height is uneven?

The joys of adjustables
i had the same thing with my sons car..kept going round in circles so gave up in the end & left it as close as we could get it.
I could be wrong but i think adjustables are primarily designed for corner weight of each wheel rather than height even-ness.
The chassis stiffness means as you adjust one it affects the others too!

not really...its just weird that the rear rh side needs the locking rings screwed ring down away from the spring whereas the lh side needs the locking rings to be up and pressing on the spring and the front is the opposite.

What kind of coilovers have you guys got? Most have pre-load and height adjustment as separate things.
Also are your damper settings all the same?

i have teins with the adjustable dampning which sits inside car.

drivers side sits higher usually to account for the weight of the driver sit in the drivers seat and get someone to measure

I don't think that's something usual in coilover design, however, rather needs to be taken into account when installing and setting the ride height as desired.
