Hardtop seals and wiring
Have recently acquired a hard top with a heated window (cheers brownie!).
Unfortunately, the seal around the rear window is damaged. I have some black Urethane I thought I could use - is there any downside to this?
Otherwise, are normal glazers (Smith & Smith, et al) able to replace the seals without costing a fortune?
edit: Do I have to install a switch to activate the demist function too? Or is there some switch I haven't discovered?

"im not even sure if a heated rear window was an option on the NA series?"
Yup. Sure was, from 1992/93 models on. The plug sits on the parcel
shelf behind
the passenger seat.

I have found a MX5 demister switch in the draw !!,It should go in the middle hole on the R/H lower part of the dash,You should have the loom already there.
10amp fuse is what you need in the fuse holder in the boot(Next to the aerial fuse),Not sure if a relay is required or not ,I will do more homework on that, unless someone else can shed some light.
The switch is yours if you want it.

Here to help with any needs for your beloved MX5/Roadster.
Bugger, that hole is currently occupied by the factory foglight switchmazline wrote:I have found a MX5 demister switch in the draw !!,It should go in the middle hole on the R/H lower part of the dash,You should have the loom already there.

I'll investigate further when I have time!

Yeah I just bought a hardtop also with the demister. So to get it working, I just need to get a demister switch put it?
Also, the plug on the hardtop is different to the plug in the back of the car. I've managed a temporary work around but does anyone know where I can get a NA plug/wire to use for the hartop?
