Frame rail covers and butterfly brace

Has anyone actually fitted rail covers or the full brace? I'm getting sick of the rattles and shakes and wonder if they make a significant difference?

I have. The rails felt like they made a difference but I didn't notice much difference when 2Low2c pulled off my butterfly brace and didn't put it back on

Thanks for that. Seems to be the consensus on a few other sites. rails are worthwhile but the butterfly brace really only matters for 10/10ths stuff.

from what ive read frog arms make the biggest difference.

Finally fitted the Redben frame rails. Big difference - the car feels far more solid and rides better - feels like the suspension is working rather than the body shaking. Worthwhile improvement and makes the car far more pleasant to drive. Thanks Ben

Hi guys
I'm looking at getting some frame rails to help improve the feel of my 96 Roadster, and wondered on costs of getting them done here. Saw Redben does some but can't seem to get in touch. Does anyone have any photos of rails they have installed, or any recommendations. have got a quote of $150USD for postage of Flyin Miata rails.

Have you tried getting hold of Ben through the MX5 Facebook page? If you have, and that hasn't been successful, PM me, I have his phone number. His price is around $360, a lot cheaper than FM.
There was also a guy selling a set of Ben's rails on FB a few months ago. I don't think he sold them.

I think I have a couple of cad drawings floating around if you want to get your own made, pretty sure they're correct, I've yet to make a set and test as my latest mx5 came framed up.

Thanks for your help guys. I've got in touch with Ben and I'm now looking forward to getting a set off him. Can't wait to install them, although I will have to wait for at least a couple of months due to other things I want to do to it, dang it.

I finally got round to having Ben's frame rails put on the car a few weeks ago. Yes, it has made a difference. Yes, it is better. The car feels a lot more 'together', with less flex. Definitely worth it. Thanks Ben.
