I had this arrive via courier today, its an intercooler from an Isuzu .... it not hideously massive so it should be quite good for the job.... the core is 290x230x50 (that's just the core and not including the shroud)

good idea 8)
I have just spent the past hour straightening out the bent over fins, removed the wastegate and vane (I assume it was a top mount intercooler) and then gave it a good clean and degrease...

there was a reasonable amount of oil residue inside so most of that is now gone thanks to running hot water through it in the bath

Ha! Reminds me of a story. Some bloke on NZH had his mrs come home and open the dishwasher to fill it up, only to find a very clean H22A block sitting in the plates thingy.

Can't wait to get back home and get this all fitted onto the car! then it's off to the upholsterers :) I'm not totally 100% on the style bar but will see what it looks like on the car.

my cheap $30 JVC car speakers developed a slight crackle/distortion on one speaker (the speaker itself, not a bad connection) so I had these arrive today to replace them. They are still cheap speakers but not as shit as the JVC's (these were a whopping $40 but I selected them based on frequency response, wattage and other stats compared to similar priced alternatives).

One day I would like to splash out on some nice deluxe speakers and so forth from Mattapo but in the meantime these will do as my engine performance upgrades are more important for my budget at this current time.

i'm running an isuzu bighorn intercooler. it works well. i had to cut 1 bracket off it. i just made a 20mm square tube bracket so it mounts to the old air con heat exchanger bracket mounts and a couple of drop down brackets from the rad panel.

Unfortunately in the MX5 you probably won't see the expected improvement in plug life from a iridium centre plug like the Iridium IX.

In a waste spark ignition a single coil fires two plugs simultaneously, one with positive polarity, the other with negative polarity (the spark jumps from the engine back to the coil to complete the circuit). On the negative polarity side, the ground electrode will see more wear, which is why "dual" platinum plugs are available with precious metal centre and ground electrodes.

I had some 25mm hub centric spacers arrive today and was given a navman mivue 338 drive recorder (my mum had flybys and didn't want to waste them so she got it and then decided she couldn't be bothered using it, lol)

Now I need to pull finger and get my rear arches rolled so I can fit my flares (I plan on just cutting my front ones to save time but the rears are better rolled due to the composition of them (two skins of sheet metal coming together that I can't be bothered cutting and mig welding))
*happy dance*

I picked this up today from a mate, basically its a gauge you mount with a hose connected to it that comes out the dashboard that you blow into that shows you how hard you are blowing into the hose.

very useful

Shifter rebuild kit.

... Closely followed by moar paint, because the grey isn't as dark as I'd like.

What did the shifter rebuild kit cost and what does it include? Both boots as well as bush kit?
