Car Set-Up and Track day Driving
My son and I are setting up a car for the 2K Cup series and are using Bridgestone Potenza RE002 tyres.
I contacted Bridgestone to see if they could recommend an optimum hot tyre pressure. They couldn't, but gave me a link to a site which had info on car set-up. http://www.turnfast.com/technical
There is some useful stuff on this for people thinking of modifying their cars or planning to do track days.

Wow glad I never bought one of these when I was looking for a car... So many have destroyed their engine

But I do like this one because the body is so rough and yet the engine looks so shiny http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-ca ... 549443.htm

Haha I mentioned this to a friend, all these MR2's and I bet a few will get BEB issues. Sweepers at Hampton Downs won't help prevent the midgets with sledgehammers.Donovan wrote:I have a SW20 MR2 for the 2K cup, well two actually, already have blown the motor in one of them, big end bearing, pretty common fault in these, don't think it will be long before car No.2 goes the way of the dodo.
Now I know there are BEB issues I'll steer well clear of them. Not that I can afford to enter the thing anyway, but I do like the look of it.Angreal wrote:Combine these two cars?4A-GE wrote:I'd be looking for a dinged up SW20 mr2

A couple of friends and me have decided that v6 mr2 is one of the most crashable things ever.

V6 MR2's
You're dead right about the V6 MR2 being easy to crash
I can slide my MX5 around Taupo/Hampton all day long with ease, but in my V6 MR2 (that's my one for sale on Trademe)
You spend half your time going backwards if you're pushing it, - Still good fun though, and has plenty of torque.
An AW11 with the 3L V6 is even worse (got one of them too)
