Where did you get too, the last time I saw you was at that Miranda shop, and then you vanished, did you get lost??harlansmart wrote:Primo - can't find Donovan or Chris but hopefully they're all safe & happy.... parked in TWA in front of Formosa Country Club now:)
Vader was sweet, just the windscreen washer bottle melted... so I had a buggy screen.
As for Chris the big snob, never saw him at all, saw his car parked at Ardmore, and that was it.

Hey mate,
I tried to park near you in the car-park at the finish, but wasn't able to then I got told to go park with the other cars that were like Miata's so got ushered to the VIP courtyard area out front w/the Lambo's & Ferrari (as per pix) - then I tried to get the Miata guys all at a table for the dinner but could only find the Lexus Supercharged NOS guy but he was already seated at a table I think w/his missus maybe?
I did stand and walk around and look for the HSV V8 Pilot in the dinner but couldn't see you, probably blind... amazing I got around the route really.
Anyway 'all good', event was superb fun again - we didn't see any loose driving, everyone who was in the event was really courteous, the crap & selfish road users didn't have numbers (or brains) - I think personally they could choose better roads however, and a more communal lunch works better - but the event (event route) must be massively difficult to organise and again I give Kudos to the boys at Auckland Motorsport.

I didn't mind the roads, the only thing was getting stuck behind traffic every so often on the coromandal route, surprising that when they have a little Mazda fly up behind them from no where.
Yeah, lunch could have been a bit better, everyone sort of just went their own seperate ways, to either find food, or carry on, and no one seemed to be sorting anything out at the lunch point. They should have someone at least giving everyone a start time to take off from the lunch.
Maybe do something like they do in the Europe and US events (mind you, those are held over 5 or 6 days) and do a staggered start with 1min intervals, info packs have enough info to get to the lunch point, and then another staggered start with the rest of the info, but either way, huge thing to organise, and I am sure they will keep on getting better with each event.

The event was very well organized, and thankfully, there were no loose units out there driving.

Chris are you doing it w/your old man in the porch?
Hopefully this year, since even the tickets themselves can be had for peanuts, more from our forum will do what is a really fun event!
That one that went up by Kaikohe a few years ago was just awesome - hoping for a route similar to that!
Who has entered so far anyways, lets get a decent turn-out happening!

Awesome Donovan,
So, you want to use the MX5 for the track bash in the evening at Puke but take the Beemer on the route during the day?
The after party might be quite decent, at the race track eh... did you get dinner tickets, we should try get a decent group together.
Best even that we've been attending, wicked fun!
