I have spent friday and this morning lining a garage with gib and this afternoon I head out to do a house pre-purchase inspection. I won't hold my breath, but things look promising... especially if I can weasel into doing the house inspections full time.
I still feel gutted with how things went and how I allowed myself to be setup for a big fall, but I am honestly glad I am out of bunnings. Well, the money for minimal effort was nice but it has become too much like an adult version of high school its beyond a joke.
besides, I had already bought all the tools I wanted

If you can set up as a one man band there are heaps of tax breaks available, so long as you're disciplined with bookkeeping. Lot of niche markets in the building industry too, I've got a mate in Auckland that just builds decks.
Of course, there's always Christchurch. Plenty of building work down here!

Haha, calm down matey - it was awkward for me as kieran LITERALLY just saw the joke and messaged me. Was hoping it was a swift joke that he wouldnt have seen. Not the place to be getting angry over nothing, silly. The world doesnt hate you.chris wrote:... Why would this be awkward for you....TehAshleigh wrote:This is getting too awks for me.chris wrote:^ Good timing for you to agree?

I'm getting to the same stage as you MrGrey.
I'm the most knowledgeable person in the store i work in, constantly get the highest sales but the boss doesn't care about that, he only wants me there to sell extended warranties which is the hardest item to sell.
New owners of the company have raised the warranty targets out of reach for our small store but I'm still expected to meet them. Also don't get commission if you don't reach the target
I'm so close to quitting

Do it!! You are the one with the brains in the company - it will be a huge loss to them. Dont undersell yourself, ever. Lifes too short to do something that doesnt make you happy!siren676 wrote:I'm getting to the same stage as you MrGrey.

Stand up for yourself.
I'll give you an example.
Ashleigh, I was not taking the piss out of Kieran, he's a good guy that I have respect for (Sadly, I don't respect you.) Life gives people shit all the time, you have to work your ass off all the freakin' time. After Kieran blew his headgasket, then his sump bolt, I figured it is a fairly ironic time for him to see this thread.

About 12 months ago I told my boss to get fucked - Worked in electronics retail. One of the big ones. Ran 2 departments, knew EVERYTHING in the shop, consistently made the biggest commission. I asked for a raise off minimum wage as I felt I was worth more than the retard indian woman who kept selling Sony mem cards with EVERY OTHER CAMERA EXCEPT SONYS!!!siren676 wrote:I'm getting to the same stage as you MrGrey.

Anyway, he said no, I think you are worth as much as her. Told him to jam it. Getting paid 10k more now in an office job (Albeit I put on 10kg), cruisier... store went to the shit. Boss offered me my job back at 8k more, told him to get fucked. Best feeling ever... Literally said "Get fucked".
It gets better, but don't think retail is all there is for you. It took me 8 months to move into my current role, usual time is 2.5 years...

Really want to get away from electronics and into something automotive based like repco or a mechanic apprenticeship.
