I know this is a crazy idea but have you guys ever actually called ross instead of emailing him?
When I got my hardtop off him i just called him up, said i'd take it and we organised to meet up a week or 2 later.

here is another crazy idea....when someone wants to buy something off you maybe you SHOULD answer E mails? If you dont want to do that then dont put your E mail address on your web site?

personally, I generally deal exclusively with email as with a phone call it relies on both participants being available at the same time while email messaging will wait until the recipient has time to check their email.... not to mention the cost of toll calls (I hate how our telco's nickel and dime us).
I check my emails everyday and I kind of expect most other to do the same especially traders and businesses. This is a digital age and is how the rest of the world works.

I agree. It also leaves a paper trail of amounts/prices you've been quoted, rather than unrecorded phone calls... and its easier to give bank details etc, and then there's no excuse of 'mishearing' something.

Yeah I'm a +1 for emails, I have hearing difficulty so would much rather email. Less hassle if theres a prompt reply.
In saying that, I emailed Ross a few weeks ago and he got back to me within a day or two?

Can I leap to my own defense and say theres only me working here and the phones always on.
Ive recently been overseas for 2 and a half weeks and try to answer emails asap.
Theres always the chance I may be out of town picking up or delivering a car and emails have been known to go awol in computerland.
Or you may end up in the spambox.
Im in the middle of moving to a much larger premise in Tauranga which is a major exercise and when thats finished ill not only have credit card facilities but a co worker.
Maybe we should all say what we do and our job position so we can rate your business as well.
Its easy to be critical from the anonymity of a computer.....

I'll start. I am a Key Account Manager and I have been employed to sell the company’s product (Plastic bottles).
I have people phoning me, emailing me, skyping me etc on a daily basis.
If people can't get hold of me in a timely manner they get annoyed, frustrated, and ultimately go elsewhere.
Word of mouth can be a powerful tool. It can be fantastic when it’s positive and detrimental when it’s not.
Ross, I have known you for a long time and have dealt with you in the past but never bought anything from you, so don't have a good/bad thing to say. (You have a niche market but look after that market well). Personally I would be more concerned by the negative comments than trying to justify why no one gets any contact from you. I’m not trying to evoke an argument here…just pointing out the obvious.
