Just put my handles back in after paint. Take your door card off, put windows right up, should be able to access it, dunno how to fix your issue tho

When ths hapened to me I had to wind down the windown and use a suitable bent piece of coat hanger wire to activate the unlock mechanism. The manuals were gooenough for me to work out which piece of the internal mechanism needed to triggered. I needed a fine beamed torch - one of thoseLED ones that re comon thee days - to look down in to the internals through the sealing rubber strips. You will needa lot of swear words on hand too, it may take some time.
I do not hink that it possible to take he door card off when the door is closed although it may be possible to un-hook it from the top to give you a bit of access to view what is going on inside.
Once you have opened the door you can take the card off and by using the broken spring and pictures from the manual, it is possible to make new on from ld springs that you have lying around.
I hope you manage to fix it soon.

Fixed this on a workmate's car a few months ago. I can confirm the door card is removable with door closed, though it's a bit awkward and your mileage may vary (unsure if it was supposed to be able to come off when we did it, but it did without issue).
Bit of a fiddle to sort the spring out once you've got it off, but it's not difficult.
