fixing the seatbelt retractor

hello again

I have something more akin to an irritation than a problem but my seat belt is slow to retract. after doing some reading into the matter, I see that it is a common problem with the older MX5's and I have read through the service bulletin regarding the issue found here:

now its not an issue of dirt (the belt is clean as a whistle) so I put some dry glide lubricant and that has made it better but still not amazing.

I was considering replacing the guide like in the pdf or maybe cutting and shaping the guide that is currently in there.

has any one else encountered this problem and had any luck with making it retract faster?

Similar problem to mine last year. Put up with it for a bit, dri-lube was a
short term fix, & in the end still stopped working altogether. Could't
be arsed
to fix something being a major safety issue (in my books), I bought a new belt
& installed it. Fast, simple & cheap I reckon. Off the shelf item from BNT

Sadly I am unsure who BNT is? I asked about a replacement one from mazda and was told they don't make them anymore and would have to get a second hand one.... (yeah it sounded kinda odd to me too)

so I can get an off the shelf aftermarket replacement that would fit a 1990 na6? what sort of ballpark $$$ would I be looking at?

Mazline has full kits off the shelf as well,Black or Red,and Tan if you have a V Spec car.
Thought there was a add here in the classifieds for them ?

Had the same problem with mine, tried very thing, gave up and brought a new on from Repco.
