Cusco Roll Cage - Yahoo Auctions

Post by halberd » Sun Sep 09, 2012 12:02 pm

Some of you probably have already seen this

http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/163938515

I'm pretty keen on buying it (unless one of you gets it first, haha)

Is there anything I need to know first? I've never bought anything form Yahoo Japan but I've been reading on the Import Monster website etc, but I have no idea how expensive it will turn out or if its able to be shipped due to size etc, or even if that bar is any good.

I was thinking I could take off the section that goes forwards of the seats and use it just as a roll bar, then on track days chuck the rest of it in. Or something. I dunno

it is not legal without a certification as it goes forward of the rear most passenger
and would not get certification with out msnz authority card
and would not get authority card due to its bolt together assembly

in short itll never be allowed on the road or the track (apart from track days)

Yea, thats why I was thinking of just using the bar. It will never see anything harder than track days anyway.

For the price do you reckon it would be good as just a roll bar to let me on Hampton Downs for a play? Taking into account Import Monster fees and shipping etc?

Sorry for the questions, I'm just new at roll bars and importing etc. Gotta learn somewhere though right?

Depending on how much importing one costs you might want to look into getting one made here. You can get them made to your specs at most engineering fabrication shops for between $500-$800 depending on the shop.

Wouldnt bother buying a bolt in cage or roll bar.

For the price it'll cost to get it from Japan, you could have a proper one manufactured to spec over here for less money.
