Slowly getting my NB rear subframe back together.
New wheel bearings, CVs, Energy bushes, stainless lines, new discs. Will be getting a 4.3 torsen in it.
To go in my 91 when I eventually get it back.

By any chance is the 91 you speak of the car you had in your garage that didn't look so original anymore?Euen wrote:Slowly getting my NB rear subframe back together.

No. It is a standard Silverstone 91, 1.6 that got shunted in the back by some little prick in a Trueno/Levin. It is still at the panel beaters but I can't complain too much because it is not costing me much.

Careful with that approach. With no vent, the tank can pressurise in warm/hot weather. Ive heard of it affecting fuel mixtures too. There should still be an opportunity for the tank to vent. It is worth noting that a significant proportion of HCs are produced by unsealed fuel systems venting.Snapfrozen wrote:Space and cleanliness mainly. Looped the 2 lines that it eventually joins to each other and blocked off the intake one.Brainflex wrote:Why remove the charcoal canister?
What did you do with the vent from the tank?

If you loop the lines it vents into the fuel tank with the charcoal canister there that still vents to the fuel tank also doesn't it?
Also the tank will pressurise in warm/hot weather regardless of the charcoal canister being there or not
Ive had no problems with my NB didnt even throw a CEL like Ive heard some peoples do.

The charcoal cannister vents into the intake via a solenoid valve controlled by the ecu. However there is also a vent off the top that ends up in the inside of the front cross menber.

I may be wrong but I think that the the non US (or at least JDM) NBs have a run a fuel return. Certainly the fuel rails on the 2 99 heads that I have, have a return line from the FPR on the fuel rail. Kieran, I would suspect that your 98 would be the same spec.
