MORE weird noises

Post by halberd » Tue Aug 07, 2012 3:15 pm

Great, my Roadster has developed two more weird noises

1) there is a weird sound coming from the front left. I thought it was a screw rattling around in the glovebox at first, but it sounds like it's inside the dash. I have no idea at all what it could be. It's not the fans, I tried turning them on and off and the sound didn't change

2) when I turn really (really) hard to the left there is a loud WUB WUB WUB WUB from the rear right wheel, could this be wheel bearings?

That Wub noise could be the rear calipers being siezed, check them out. Mine still does it so I must have something else wrong but I have replaced everything except hub and it still wont go away...

The first noise might be the brake pads rattling around? My car does it as I haven't put the springs back in yet

You reckon? Hmm. It only happens when I absolutely throw it into a corner. I just took it for a blast just now and it's significantly louder when I lift my foot off the gas. I'll check it out

That exact same noise just happened to me this week. I thought it was my lock nut key in the glovebox but it was in the boot with the jack...

I've got Dobi springs with low profile tires and I live on a bumpy gravel driveway which probably doesn't help the 10,000 rattles already present in my car.

Weird noise #1 - could be your bonnet catch? If you haven't already tried it put some insulating tape around the catch and see if that fixes it. For some reason the sound travels and seems like its inside the dash. Alternatively it could just be a rattly glovebox door?
