For some reason my car emits about as much steam as a geothermal area. Every morning my exhaust pumps out water vapour for my entire 20 minute drive to work, a very considerable amount. Same when going home at night.
Is there any reason for why it would be emitting excessive water. I'm thinking it may have a bit to do with the exhaust and it's lack of cat (nothing to retain some heat in the exhaust), but would there be some other reason also?

My car doesn't have a cat and it doesn't take long to stop having the steamy/misty cloud stop.

The exhaust traps heaps of condensation overnight [especially if outside] which comes out as steam on these cold mornings.
So unless you are losing alot of radiator water then its all pretty normal.

Totally normal providing it eventually stops steaming on longer drives. Have to say though that 20 minutes is at the extreme end of normal! Like others have said, if youre not loosing coolant (and your sure it's steam and not oil) then it's probably fine.

Yeah it's definitely steam/water not smoke and oil
