Buying from the states
Basically, all the parts that I am interested in buying (headers, exterior parts etc) are almost impossible to find in NZ, and Google points me in the direction of sites like gomiata.com, good-win-racing.com etc which stock exactly what I want. On some of them, they correctly calculate the shipping which is obviously very expensive, but on gomiata.com for example, they calculate $65 USD to ship some 4-2-1 headers to NZ.
I've emailed them about their shipping before, but nobody got back to me. They do claim to have very cheap shipping prices and theres a section about it on their site, but $65 seems insanely cheap.
Just seeing if anyone here has had any experience with international sites for buying large items? And if you have any good sites to share.
Cheers

Wow they sound almost as bad as fortyone! I waited 6 weeks for wheels that they told me it'd take 2 weeks (then turned out they had ordered a big container load of them and proceeded to sell them cheaper than I had paid, without the extra air freight that I had paid for, left me about $320 out of pocket). Then a mate of mine waited 7 months for a wastegate from them. My radiator cap took 5 months too, had forgotten about it by the time it finally arrived!
The only online companies I've found great to deal with so far are Pro Wholesale (amazing service!), Cockram Nissan in Christchurch, and Broomfish who was also really good.

Have used Flyin Miata, Moss, Goodwin, 949 and Miata Roadster. Moss was a few years ago but no problem. Have found all the others to be helpful and responsive. Freight price will depend on who they use. FM tend to use UPS which is very expensive but pretty reliable. Others use USPS (US Postal) which is cheaper but can be a bit flakey in terms of delivery. Their track and trace is useless. I had one consignment that just disappeared. Fortunately the supplier (Gearheads Garage) replaced the order at no charge.
TG Sports, classic roadster - modern technology. NA1800, 99 head, 11:1 +2mm Wiseco pistons, Link LEM, Alloy f/wheel, JR headers.
Re: Buying from the states
You could try adjusting the brake pistons. Hope that helps.

I've used recently:
- Flyin Miata multiple times. I always end up buying group buy items and end up on backorder. Shipping is definitely expensive if you try get it sent direct.
- 949 Racing multiple times. Emilio is very helpful and shipments are very fast.
- Moss motors. No complaints from them.
- Goodwin Racing - Very helpful and no problems.
- Bodykits.com - Didn't enjoy buying from them... Thankfully I don't see the need to after this one instance.
- Ebay - Never had problems with them, usually find what I want for cheaper on ebay than trademe (same item).
- Fastforward superchargers - Very helpful and quick to respond.
Actually practically everyone MX5 related in the States has been very quick to respond and trouble free. Can't say I've dealt with NZ companies though, usually I end up buying in person as I find it far more worthwhile. Mazline in CHCH and Mazbits in Auckland are good and very easy to deal with and I've managed to get some nice parts from them

I was struggling to see the connection between ordering from the States and pH in the injectors and you found the missing link.punkoutnz wrote:RU spambot?Vtec wrote:Try using a low pH solution for your fuel injectors.
Time to humour the bot. So do acidic solutions work on injectors?
