Lol. Is that forum still alive? Oh dear.
Went for a mean hoon over the Akatarawas and up Paekakariki hill on easter Monday. Weather was boss.

yeah savings for some seats and harnesses now, and then get a cage welded in.
Not quite sure whether i wanna go full cage or just half cage at this point.
I've got a mate building an AE85 racecar that's fully caged, it's gonna be a trailered race car, but he's trying to convince me to just spend the extra cash and get a full cage first time round, but trying to get in and out of his car is a pain in the arse, espcially with the Racetech's hes got in it.... and i'm sorta not keen for that considering it's still going to be a road car... so i'm kinda set on a weld in half cage for it. And i guess that way i only need a cert and dont need to get a log book and auth card etc.
You just need the right design for a full cage so its easier to get in and out
For Example

Could put some hooks in it to hold up a hammock in case you ever need to sleep in your car. (After doing that on Friday night, I never, ever, ever want to do that again!).
Cool sunroof bro...

I took a nap in the car last time I drove down to Taupo and when I woke up 20 minute later, my neck was in absolute agony and it took an hour before I could look over my shoulder again

My MX5 i could never sleep in. The Cube however, the seats fold into a bed, so it's a breeeeze to sleep in.

Bump.
Do the admins/mods use this forum anymore? Do they moderate it at all? Seems fairly hands off. Haha. Helloooooooo?
I reckon the few of us that use this forum should have a roadster megameet somewhere. Taupo or something. Not a track day, just a day trip/overnight trip. Meet up, go for a drive somewhere take some pics or do a scavenger hunt or something, then get on the piss at a BYO restaurant that night and have a mean time.
Real low key relaxed as.
Anyone game?

Yeah I'd be down for that. Might as well organise it for summer though as it's not exactly MX5 weather to be traipsing through the snow!

Yeah definitely in Summer. Would just be good to organise it in advance. Taupos not too far from Wellington, and its not toooo far from auckland (I think...) so is a good midpoint to get OTP with the boyz and gurlz.
I'm sure the official MX5 club for the elderly would have megameets.

Sounds mean as. Let's do it.
When does summer officially start? Could celebrate the opening of roadster season... that sounds fairly gay.

Well December everyone's gearing up for Xmas, January everyone's getting over Xmas. How about February next year? That way it'll be all piping hot and everyone will be balls deep in the roadster spirit.

Unless it was like the summer just gone, and then everyone will be driving around in private swimming pools, cause the cars will have filled up with water from all the rain.

Sweeeet, february + balls deep in roadster spirit sounds ideal. Decent amount of time for me to get my shit together too. Haha
Lock it in.
