Best to get someone to extract the gas for you instead of just venting it to the atmosphere. To do it properly, see if you can find the plastic duct to replace the unit under the dash between the fan and the heater unit.
Re the washer bottle, FM are selling one from the Suzuki Capuchino. Not sure if you will find one locally though.

Makes no difference once you take out the evaporator, save for a 100 grams or so in weight.Euen wrote:To do it properly, see if you can find the plastic duct to replace the unit under the dash between the fan and the heater unit.
Heres an idea though. What I did with the (now empty) evaporator box was:
Cut a 5 inch circle out of the front side.
Fit a 'transfer' pipe (some pvc drain pipe) from one outlet of the box to the other to carry all the air through, sealing the edges.
Fill the inside of the (now sealed) box with a small amount of concrete about half an inch deep, letting it set one side at a time so the box now has half inch thick concrete walls.
Mount a 5 inch subwoofer in the 5 inch hole and an amp under the seat.
Enjoyed the decent bass it now produces from a completely hidden sub!
Picture shows a cheap hifi speaker I used as a proof of concept.
Narp, bout the same as it was with the old evaporator in it. In fact it's not concrete but tile adhesive. Dries just as hard in the end.
I did have a bit of difficulty finding a 'proper' small sub, but lucked out and got a second hand high end carbon coned job. I am constantly surprised just how well it works. It doesnt drop as low as a 10 or 12 does on D&B tracks, but for punchy music (im more into house), it's perfect!

Where did you get the roll bar made? Interested in getting myself sorted for a roll bar within the next few months...chris wrote:Spent almost all of yesterday in the garage with the old man cutting up my beloved Parcel Tray.. Goodbye :'(
