Hood Lift Kits and Lower Rear Lips

Post by harlansmart » Sat May 26, 2012 12:40 pm

Want to spend some money today despite the poor exchange rate - can someone point me to the place to get a couple of sets of hood lift kits and I am also keen to get the ex's Silver MX5 a lower rear lip like the R-Package offering, what's the best avenue for procurement does anyone know and TIA.

Wadda you mean by hood lift kit? You wanna raise the bonnet at the back where it meets the windscreen to release heat? Should be able to use a few washers and some slightly longer bolts to do that, if that's what you're referring to. Atleast that's what it was like in prev cars I've owned...

I went to pick a part and got a strut and made some brackets to fit it. Cost me about $15 for the strut. Just finding the right one was a hassle, ended up buying 3 in the end! One too soft, one too hard, and one about right, haha.
Cool sunroof bro...

Just quickly - in an effort to keep my cash circulating in Aotearoa and because 2LOW2C advice seems always reasonably sound I went saw one of his whanau just round the corner at SAS Hydraulics and now poking out of my pen glass next to me I've a set of sexy black (VADER BLK) STABILUS custom made struts, they're adjustable if required so they will lift the alloy hood nicely... will fit them some time, take a snap and detail the effectiveness of them but I'm positive they'll be legend.

Thanks again Paul for a great hook-up, appreciated mate.
