turbo miata
hi.
would anyone kind enough to show me their mx5 turbo setup? cuz i am looking forward to add bit more power to my miata but don't know where to start and never seen a turbocharged miata so don't have any clue on how they perform.
cheers.

There seems to be a lot of members with turbos on this forum. Although there is a hell of a lot of information already here it would be good to have its own sub forum where information is in one place and readily accessible. Thoughts on getting this set up?
I have parts of a turbo setup but need to fabricate a few more bits and pieces before I install it (And the spare time to actually get back into it!).
Although I have an engineering background I too would need some further info. And I'm out West!

Good idea & maybe even organise open day meets for those who wish to view them all at one time? Plus the we could all exchange notes.Growler wrote:There seems to be a lot of members with turbos on this forum. click on the link in my signature for a build up of mine.
there are lots of small things that make turbo'ing an mx a bit tricky.
this setup is a good starting point:
Mega squirt ECU and some 440cc injectors from a 2002+ wrx.
Custom make a manifold using schedule 40 "weld els"and use a cheap used turbo such as a subaru VF10 or one from a 200sx(T25) is a good size. normal wrx turbos are a bit on the small side.
things that will trip you up...
the power steering pipe gets in the way..i made a new one up.
There isnt a lot of room for the dump pipe off the back of the turbo..plan wisely
the lower water hose gets in the way...again careful placement and clocking of the turbo is needed.
