I wouldn't own my car without a hard top (apart from the complete absence of a soft top

) and you can certainly feel the difference driving with the top off! I too am up to the roll bar stage of modifications, so I'll need to start getting the cash together for that too...

Soft top = long gone. The canvas was totally F'd, so we pretty much cut it off with a craft knife and then unbolted the frame. Good times. The thing weighs a tonne too, so it'll be a nice bit of weigh reduction now that its gone! Hardtop only FTW
Next project is removing my snapped auto electric aerial and replacing it with a bung. I hate radio!

I'm considering welding over mine, as there's a bit of paint bubbling around it so it'll need rust treatment anyway. We seem to be on a similar level as far as thoughts on our cars go

Does anyone know where you can get bungs to go in the holes left when I remove the factory spoiler?

Would be interested in this also. I believe Supercheap/Repco do grommets/bungs to suit this, if someone can confirm?

I was in the same boat, no radio but I had a rubber bung which added weight, slowing my acceleration and also adding wind friction reducing my top speed and increasing my fuel consumption and wind noise so I threw the rubber bung in the rubbish bin and used a very special system for filling the hole, it did not cost a lot of money nor require visiting any shops for once so it was a very good system.

You can fix anything with duct tape, if you can't fix it with duct tape, then it's f$&ked!

I think I might even have a go at sanding back my bubbling paint around the antenna hole and hitting it with primer and some spray can touch-up paint, then bung it over. Not sure I'd want to go with duct tape, though

Well it looks like I'm not going to be removing my spoiler so easily. The fucktard previous owner had the spoiler attached with bloody SCREWS. Through the bootlid. It's a factory spoiler, what on earth was wrong with the factory mounting method?
Ugh, time to keep an eye out for a new bootlid.

yeah savings for some seats and harnesses now, and then get a cage welded in.
Not quite sure whether i wanna go full cage or just half cage at this point.
I've got a mate building an AE85 racecar that's fully caged, it's gonna be a trailered race car, but he's trying to convince me to just spend the extra cash and get a full cage first time round, but trying to get in and out of his car is a pain in the arse, espcially with the Racetech's hes got in it.... and i'm sorta not keen for that considering it's still going to be a road car... so i'm kinda set on a weld in half cage for it. And i guess that way i only need a cert and dont need to get a log book and auth card etc.

My only concern about a full cage is needing authority card etc. while a half cage doesn't require anything.
I've got a ring of bubbling paint around my antenna hole, so tomorrow will be spent fixing that before popping a blanking grommet over it. I've currently got one of the window wiper arm nut covers in place, but Supercheap does 7/8" blanking grommets for a few dollars

I thought the fake RB30 build needing more cash would be the perfect authentic touch
