Won't go

Post by dino3 » Mon Oct 25, 2010 5:04 pm

Forgive me all fore I have sinned , it has been 12 months since my last drive! I went to start the car today and it won't run . It tries to start and chugs away on a couple cylinders but does not run ,then dies and smells flooded. I have checked the fuel pump (shorted fp and gnd pins and I can here fuel flowing) , fitted another airflow meter etc ,cleaned the ignition points at the key, fitted another set of plug leads and plugs .... still no go . Oh and it was going when I put it away . Any help would be great . cheers Dean

Stale petrol? certainly can be an issue with bikes left unrun for a few weeks....

try doing a few flood clear starts..

put your foot to the floor and THEN crank the engine for about 3 seconds.
starting this way delays the injector firing a few seconds to clear away any flooding of the engine.
