Sub woofers

Has anyone found a realy good size box to fit int he boot of an MX5? Or made one? I really want something long and slim and/or something with a pretty good forward facing angle.

I have a standard box shape one from Jaycar fitted with a 10" but it will only fit in the boot facing up. So the sub ends up only an inch below the boot lid which results in excessive vibration and more sound behnd the car than in the cabin.

I also have a 12" one in a slanted box that has had 6" cut out to make it slimline but now the volume is way too small so the sound is dull.

Another problem is I have the NB which has the tyre in the bottom middle. My 10" box seemed to take up a lot less space in my NA.

Have checked out Audio setups on Car Domain or Miata's?,I'm sure you will find plenty of ideas on there ,Narrow your search down to NB models.

I seem to recall reading posts somewhere about relocating the spare under the floor by changing the rear muffler so it exits on the left side of the car. This freed up the spare wheel space for a sub.

Our SP25 has the subwoofer mounted within the spare - have a look at a Mazda dealer, it might give you some ideas.

Ive got a 6" sub in a box behind the dash, cant even see its there even if you go searching for it. Still got the glovebox too
