Such a shame, just one or two things done slightly differently and it would be amazing. The auto thing completely ruins it though. I really would be intrested to see if its even remotely certifiable, as the windscreen forms part of the structure of the car, and protects in a roll over. I cant see many certers being happy about it being removed.

Yes - I doubt very much you'd get a cert - I'm sure there a minimum heights for the screen and then there is the 'roll over and support its own weight requirement that I assume exists in NZ as per past discussions re the original design.
There was a concept MX5 produced with a low screen like that (the speedster) - and I remember discussions on that saying that the screen design meant that it would never be available.
