Youll be lucky to find any at a wreckers. Most people know their true value, which is currently lurking at around the 1000 mark. Im pretty sure the mk1 is the same as the mk2. I always wonder about the volume of hard tops seen on trademe. They are really really easy to steal, and its an easy way to make a fast grand...

mmm, well thats not so good, (the price is fine) do they not latch at all from the inside?? maybe security screws might be in order if i do find one,
i see there is a company in hamilton making them, but they have no rear window, or any sort of attachments,
should i just hold out for a oem one??

Easy enough to find, right here in NZ!!!!!!!!!

hard top for series 2.... where to get them??

Post by MX5PWR » Fri Aug 21, 2009 12:43 pm

Any hardtop from 1989 to 2004 ie series I through series II will fit, You do not need to locate just a series II. The only difference is that some have linning and heated rear windows. I have had hardtops with out the heated hardtop and not problem with misting up - just put the blower on!
