Suspension options
I suspect my shocks are well overdue for replacement, and I'll probably have to attend to this before too long - some new tyres first though!
Anyway starting to look into it now, what are the favoured options for suspension, and likely costs?
I don't really want to go much lower/stiffer than standard due to gravel habits, but have also started getting into trackdays so maybe its worth losing a bit of clearance (still have the Legacy) for a more focussed MX5? As long as it doesn't end up too compromised for road fun as theres a lot more time on road than track!
Konis + aftermarket springs seems common but nothing showing up cheap on trademe etc just now.
I see a set of Tien struts on MX5mart for $400+gst, could be a good option?

Hi there Gravelben. Talk to Ross at MX5 mart and get some low Kms standy suspension, then get yourself some tein coils and you will be quite satisfied. They will not empty the bank, is not going over board and will keep a reasonable ride height with a fantastic performance feel.
But that is just my experience.

Tires aren't cheap!

this is the cheapest option it will not be as good as a set of konis or the like but will be an improvement none the less i had a set of konis with king springs for a couple of months before i got the teins they worked well not as cheap but still cheaper than a set of BC tein or the expensive suspension hab is running
it all comes down to how much you want to spend really
you will get back what you put in

Not any more, just sold them. I still have a set of Eibach springs with Ground Controls (no shocks), or a complete set of Tiens with adjustable platforms but I think they would probably be too low for Ben.sprsta wrote:euen has a set of king springs in the classifieds section

I don't throw everything on Trade Me ,so is always worth asking me if Work has anything.
I've had this set of Koni's stashed at work for awhile,Never know who might need them.
