Lightend flywheel retuning quirey?

Post by brownie » Fri Nov 07, 2008 10:57 pm

Hi all,
I've finally had my TODA flywheel fitted to the car after 18 months of shagging around and what a difference to response !!.
But any thoughts as to best way to settle down thottle when pulling up to lights with the engine reving up and down a bit before settling down to a standard idle?,I've tweaked the thottle damper which has helped a bit but not sure if i'm on the right path ,Has anyone else come across this problem ?,Flywheel weighs around 3.5kg so is a fair bit lighter than standard .
Any thoughts welcomed

I did hear of people having that problem after fitting a lightened flywheel.
From memory one of the sensors is getting a false reading and as you slow down to stop it takes a few seconds to adjust....I think!
Don't quote me on the above - I just recall someone having the same problem some time ago.

I would also check that none of the intake hoses have holes in them or they are coming lose.

a couple of things to check.

First check that your oxygen sensor has been plugged back in to the wiring loom after the exhaust was removed/re-installed

Also check that your throttle butterfly is clean and has no gunk around the edges. Also do the same with the idle control valve on the throttle body. Also reset your ECU and double check your Throttle position switch is making contact correctly at zero throttle.

Im pretty sure there was a procedure at miata.net for setting up the idle correctly which required unplugging the idle valve and adjusting a screw????
