Air Horn discussion
Ah.....not quite.
3dB is double the power but 10dB (or 1 Bel) is twice as loud to the average
ear's perception, if there is such a thing as the average ear.

Hi Grant...
From memory, the Hella 110dB was measured at 1 metre, and the Narva was not stated.
Probably safe to assume they are similar...and at the end of the day, both would prove to be an effective, cheap, lightweight, low cost and space efficient upgrade over the rather ineffectual standard horn (NA anyway).

On this subject has anyone been to MOTAT and given the whispering parabolic dish things a go?? Essentially there are two small parabolic dishes about 15m apart, you whisper into one and the person with their ear to the other will hear it clearly. Pretty amazing. They used to have this in front of Hamilton Museum, but like many nice things in good old NZ it got vandalised.
I noticed in Australia they seem to have a lot of outdoor art features that don't seem to get vandalised like stuff here. So Aussie does in fact have one good point.
