Hm wanting to sell

be guided by Trademe, not what they LIST for, but what they actually SELL for, it's going to be frustrating, always hard when you have a "value" for your car and the world thinks differently.... I suggest, list high and see how it goes, be prepared to explain the rarity of your car to the knockers though...

there was a 2002 titanium that was on tradme for a LONG LONG time...Is that yours?
Unfortunatly the 2000-2004 cars are stuck in a no-mans land of pricing being that an imported NC can be had for a little over $30k and a 98-99 are low teens...youll have some convincing to do to get someone to fork out 10K more than a '98 for what is perceived to be "the same" car.

There was one on Trademe and the club site about 18mnths ago. was owned by a non club member West Auck, had done about 40km and sold for $24,000.
As there are now import series 3's availoable for just under $27,000 with very low km (an RS full spec Red was on the club site recently for $26,995) the series II have dropped in price with 2002-03 being closer to $20,000- bugga as I have a 2003.

The other problem with 'rare' MX5s is that they are only of interest to
MX5 Enthusiasts, which is only a small bunch relatively speaking. This
means you don't get anything more if no one is looking at the time... or
you might get lots more if there are one or two people who really want
that model for some reason.

An example is that NB Gold MX5s don't fetch much of a premium if at all
(even though they are rare). 10th Anniv models are more sought after,
but there still seems to be a supply from Japan.
