My '93 5 is causing some frustration at the moment. The pop up
headlamps will not retract. I have just fitted a buzzer to warn that my lights
are still on, but that is not directly wired to the h/lamp system but the park
light system & windscreen wiper system as per instructions for fitting the
buzzer. I can wind them down manually but they just go up again. It makes no
difference if the headlights are on or off. Could it be an earth problem? or
some other electrickery problem. Any ideas much appreciated.
Thanks, Brent Weaver.

changing the gearbox (and turret) oil, to something synthetic
preferably, is the usual recommendation.

FWIW, my '96 was also notchy even when it was only a few years old. I
think the synchros suck slightly...
