"In da Hood"
I have a strict method of lowering the hood, which keeps everything nice
and easy.
Open both doors
Release both latches
Unzip the rear window and fold flat
Fold the hood & close the latches
Putting it back up is the reverse of this procedure. Not only does
having the doors open facilitate getting in at the zip, but it also
makes sure that the hood seals are in the right place to receive the
windows and they do not get distorted.
I do have one problem with my new hood though. When it rains the water
sits on the hood. As I get out and swing my legs out through the door,
the car rolls slightly to the right and the water flows off the roof and
deposits itself directly into my crotch.
This appears to give me a problem I have not suffered from since
childhood!
I know I am leaving myself wide open here, but has anyone got any
suggestions

Make it look like a van and rock it around for a while. Then
everyone will think you're having some "teenage" problems
instead. Might get rid of the rain tho.
And all these issues with the hood!!! When I got the roof
replaced i paid the extra $100 for the glass window. No
issues, can't unzip. Folds flat. Absolutely wonderful!

Ah you speak the truth there Ian. I'm a born and bred
Cantabrian, went to the right schools, came in on the second
wave of ships la de da, own a red MX with a black hood (Is
there any other colour?) and of course have ended up living
and working in Auckland these last five years. Best thing is
ribbing all these fellas up here with all the wins the Crusaders have.

You must have done somethig very wrong in a previous life, is all I can say!
Motored up to Nelson last Sat with the top down (red with black top also),
back on Sun (through the Lewis Pass both ways) - the little traffic there
was, was dispatched in no time...842k of driving bliss...

Good idea Vivienne, but the roof is brand new and as tight as a drum, I
tried this but it does not seem to make a difference. I think the
optimum solution is probably to make my wife get out first, that way the
car will roll left!

I would have thought that if you drive quickly enough then there would be no
rain on the roof! Assuming you can remotely open the garage door, do so,
then a brisk drive down the road and back into the garage. With a bit of
practice you should be able to stop without hitting the end of the garage.
I'm only guessing this will work as here in the dry south, we don't have
that problem!
Grant in sunny (of course) Blenheim.

You could move to sunny Hawkes Bay where it doesnt rain so much and there are more days where a top isn't needed anyway.
