John,
Did they come off a MX5? before you buy tyres i would put them on and see if they
touch anything,
As Gary says you must know what the offset is, they need to be between +35mm to +40mm,
either side of this and you risk hitting the suspension and the front wings when
turning, and sometimes they will hit the rear wings under hard cornering,
I'm not sure if 40 profile is easy to come by, i dont know of anyone using 40 profile
tyres, but no doubt someone will let us know, most of us with 16" wheels are using
205x45, which puts the speedo out by about 100rpm at 100kph.

Hi there
A bit of advice please, I just bought a set of 16x7" wheels 2nd hand >with stuffed
tires. The question is should I go for 40 or 45 profile 195 >or 205 on the tires?
Anyone with experience?
But at the same time I4m not sure if I keep them as I feel they >dominates over
the Beautiful design of the Car, but maybe I get used to >it.(It is a set of ENKEI
Lucky star with red anodized center, BOYD >designtype)
