1990 MX-5 Carburettors

I have a 90 MX-5 and love it but believe it could do with a bit more power.

I intend free flowing the exhaust but in my Enthusiast's Shop Manual It talks
about fitting twin 40DCOE Webers.

Does anyone have any information on this and some idea of the performance
changes.
