Does any one have any info concerning non power steered MX5's. Is the
rack ratio different to the powered set up? Is an unassisted rack heavy
at parking speeds? Is there a tactile difference in everyday driving?
Does the unassisted rack weight up in hard cornering?
Thanks, Paul.

Hi
The non powered steering cars are a bit heavier, especially on full lock, but
it not really a problem - its not that heavy.

Ours is non power steer... no probs at all cornering or normal
driving.. Its a little heavy parking etc,,, but the sheer thrill of
driving a car that is non power steering and manual also... (as
opposed to only being the steerer of an auto) far outways the
downside of parking slower... good luck, and have fun. we do. R. &

Hi,
Good information here on how to depower your steering.

I have done this modification myself and no problems.
