Ok so i got rid of my air con to make room for the
turbo intercooler and thought id pull out the
condenser inside the heater duct also...
The air con part sits between the fan box and the
heater box and has a clamp each end to seal the
joins... well as it turns out, those clamps do a lousy
job of sealing everything together,(The clamp is 20mm
wide and the gap can be up to 10mm wide. They also dont
wrap around tight enough) so even when the heaters on
there is still cold air spilling out from the joins on
to the passengers feet before the heater!
Remedy...
Go to para rubber and get some foam. You'll need some
about 45mm wide and probably 5mm thick strips. Undo
the clamps and wrap join with foam strips then
reclamp... Viola no more frosty toes!!
