Joining the club

Post by spotz » Thu Dec 07, 2006 9:54 pm

hi,

How can I extract confirmation from www.mx5club.org.nz that I've joined? They took my money on 1 nov and I've heard nothing since.
membership@mx5club.org.nz doesn't seem to reply.

thanks
David

I have just forwarded your message to Anne (the Treasurer) and Frans (Membership man) and asked for them to respond to your question. I did talk to Frans at the Christmas drive on Sunday - about my membership actually because I had not sent in my payment - and he did remark that he is very busy with end of the year academic stuff. I hope that I am correct in saying that as soon as he is able, Frans will send confirmation of membership to you. If he does not, then we must organise a possee and hunt him down.

I also sent off my membership form etc. a little over a week ago and am expectantly waiting by the post box for a sticker for my car. I guess the above message means I'll probably need to resign myself to waiting a bit longer.

Hi spotz, sorry - I thought I had replied to this previously but must not have hit send...

Don't forget that the NZ Club is a non profit organisation, run by volunteers, so the organisation doesn't always go as smoothly as everyone would like... :) It often depends on how busy people are in their 'real' lives.

I can suggest maybe a phone call if email is not getting the results you'd like... (not all the committee members are totally email savvy...) and either contact your local coordinator if not in the Northern chapter, or a NZ club committee member.

NZ committee members for the current year have their contact details here:

cheers

thanks,
I do realise that "NZ Club is a non profit organisation, run by volunteers, so the organisation doesn't always go as smoothly as everyone would like".

However without wishing to sound overly grumpy, I feel that if someone can be sufficiently organised to take my money within 10 days of receiving the application, then surely it shouldn't take over 40 more days to provide a new member with proof of joining? Without at least sending a quick email advising of a delay & expected resolution date. I'm hoping that this may be enough to enable me to avail myself of the various discounts as advertised.

Is this expecting to much?
David
