Terrible leak

Post by m4vr1k » Sun Jul 24, 2011 5:55 pm

So, I took off the (rather expensive) car cover on Saturday, only to find both driver and passengers seat SOAKING wet, damp carpets and mold covering the seats, seatbelts, carpets and roof.

So my first question, is where in Auckland does one purchase a decent car cover from? Paid in excess of $100 for mine from Repco, those thieving bastards

Second of all, where is the most likely place for the water to be coming in from?

Thirdly, where are the drain holes in an NA6? So I can see how clogged up they are

Cheers

The only drain holes I know of are in the rear jack points on the sills, that probably doesnt really help you at all though

There are a couple of threads below that may help:

I use a cover from repco on my TG but haven't had any problems with it leaking. I generally only use it over a single night at a time though.

Thanks for the info. I'll check up the drain holes and roof seals tonight. Euen, is your repco cover grey on the outside and white on the inside?
That pic is a surprisingly accurate portrayal of how wet my car was/is

No. It was a blue one. Came in a square, zip up bag. Elastic at front and back and straps underneath. Can't remember the brand though and not at home at the mo.

Just found that my son has one identical. It is branded "Super Gear - Genesis".

Cheers, have got another cover, hopefully this one keeps a bit more water out.
Seats, console and carpets are out now, also have cleaned out the drain holes. Just waiting for another decent dump of rain to see just where the water is coming from....
