Diff mounts

Post by tonys1100s » Sat Jan 01, 2011 9:23 pm

In the middle of fitting Energy Suspension bushes all round to my 91 NA6, the kit included new diff mounts, looks like a complete arsehole of a job to fit them, diff out etc What are the likely benefits of urethane mounts for the diff? Worth the effort? I dont have access to a hoist, so work on the floor, under the car is going to make it a hard job at best!

I did Paul's (kiwi73) a couple of weeks ago
I did it in the car i loosened both sides then did one side at a time
not easy but better than taking the lot out
you will get abit more NVH with the solid urethane mounts

how are you taking your old rubber bushes out of your control arms?
i used a hammer and chisel to get the diff bushes out

cheers

Cole

Getting the old bushes out of the control arms etc with a blowlamp, get the temp just right and they slide right out! one lower rear to do. Might leave the diff ones alone.....can't imagine the benefits are that great.....

$50, they're yours.....if you're likely to see Crockett in the near future, give it straight to him, I owe him for a rear brace bar....got a postal address?, I'll send the bushings on next week. tony@dhsteel.co.nz
