Question about hood and excessive price ?

Post by hotkiwi » Wed Jun 30, 2010 11:06 pm

Hi friends, my NB2 from 2000 needs a new hood. it has currently a glass rear heated window.
Question: can that window be re-used or do i need to buy a brand new roof with a new rear window, as the upholsterer quoted me. For a plastic zip window he quoted we 1150 $, ex GST, fitted, and for the glass window hood 1800, ex GST, fitted.
Are these prices reasonable? i find them rather high, and wonder why the glass one is 650 $ more expensive, when the glass plate is there and in great condition.
can you advise, or who would be fairer with the price in Auckland ?

Cheers

As far as i know heated glass rear windows are between $1000.00 $1500.00 incl gst then you either fit it yourself like i did which took a day & a half or you pay a upholsterer around $400.00 to do it.
