Just got one and wife ran out of gas.
she said she was waiting for the low fuel warning light
to come on.
I thought she might have put some in anyway when the needle
dropped past E but . . . . .
anyway does the MX5 have one and where is it ?
We've got a 98 series 2 (NB i think. fixed headlights)
Does the MX5 series 2 have a fuel level warning light ?

Ah...from a previous post, it would appar that you have bought an NB with the small engine. So my suggestion would be to locate some NB 1800cc factory rims which are 15x6 and most correctly fitted with 195/50x15 tyres. These will be 40mm offset, and may even be fitted with some half reasonable tyres. Bigger rims on an NB 1600 will make your car slower!
Re lights, capacities, correct service intervals etc etc - a new factory handbook from your dealer or JPNZ should be on your agenda...the best $50 you will spend.

i don't think it does,
my partner has a 98 1600cc as well,
we were wondering the same thing,
as with all my cars i like to know when it will run out of gas, so armed with 5 liters of gas i went on a mission untill it ran out,
i got 72km driving conservatly from the point it was squarly on the empty line untill it ran out on me,
at no point did any fuel light come on

Confirm that '98s do not have a low fuel light. I have a couple of circuits that fit inside the dash to give a low fuel light and have done mine. The light and circuit can be fitted outside the instrument panel to make installation easier. You do need soldering and wiring skills to do the mod. (Perhaps I should do an article for the magazine). PM me for the info.
