It looks like we're in for a new battery on our Series One [na]. Does anyone have an opinion regarding using a conventional battery, over using the original Gelcel type. The car came with a conventional lead acid type battery when we bought it, and I know others use them, but I wonder whether we should be fitting a Gelcel.
Thanks, Vince.

Go gel IMHO
I've had both - the lead acid leaked & made a mess.
There's heaps of info on miata.net & other places on comparisons - charging rates etc are different. Gel reportedly have much longer life so the initial (marginally) greater expense is soon defrayed. Lead acid ones never seem to fit properly anyway.
