Timing belt run-out

Post by WideOpenThrottle » Tue Jul 17, 2012 4:55 pm

While doing a water-pump on our NB8C i noticed the timing belt had a groove worn on the back inner top-side so i have fitted new belt pulleys and belt.

Now the new belt wants to run off the cam sprockets and pulleys by about 3-5mm towards the front.

Is there any adjustment for centering it back to the middle?

make sure the tensioner is tight and that its sitting on the pivot point at the bottom correct and the spring is not pulling it out of alignment

its the one on the left hand side in the picture

All seems to be sitting correct although i havnt introduced any extra tension apart from natural spring pull.
Will have another go tomorrow.
cheers
