MX just staops at idle

Post by Rossee » Sat May 11, 2019 3:31 pm

Hi,
Our MX runs and drives very well and we have enjoyed it for the last ten years. Got to know how it ticks in many ways.
We have a problem that no onw seems to know how to fix.
while driving, pull up at an intersection and at idle randomly the engine just stops. No particular reason, it starts again with no problems, Have had the electrics checked out and fuel system checked but there seems to be no answer.
Has this problem been experianced by anybody else?

Try searching on the miata.net forum.

This is a very active forum and I am sure this issue will have been covered there.

check the iac is working. basically the iac is a bypass valve that opens up when throttle butterfly closes (foot off the go pedal) that lets air into into motor. it runs on electrics using a solenoid. air leaks tend to result in rough/high idle speeds
