I recently picked up an Exedy 1800 HD clutch (I think it's a MZK-6469HD) and the release bearing that they supplied was incorrect. It had a 36mm ID instead of a 33mm ID.
They said that they have sold 'heaps' of these and not had any returns so I was curious to hear if anyone here has had one?
They did replace the release bearing with the correct unit however the hole in the pressure plate is larger than the MX5 one to suit the larger release bearing so the stock MX5 one only has ~1mm of overlap against the pressure plate. Exedy have said that this is not a problem, not sure that I trust them but it's working so far I'm glad I had a spare engine and gearbox to check everything out on before I pulled my car apart!
Overall I'm happy with the clutch, I paired it with one of the steel flywheels from trademe and while I'm still taking it gently I'm pretty happy with it. The clutch disc that they supply is larger than the stock 1800 disc at 225mm instead of 215mm which makes it the same size as the B6T clutch disc.

From memory i got the release bearing from BNT who sold me the clutch pack & never noticed that there was anything to be concerned over.....i may or may not have the "correct" release bearing!
Do you have the 1800 flywheel as your post does not mention this because i think from memory the 1800 disc is too large in dia for the 1600 flywheel anyway.

You would definitely notice if you got the release bearing that I did, it was totally loose on the gearbox input shaft, I don't think that the fork would actuate it correctly either.
Yeah I got a 1.8 steel flywheel off trademe which wasn't cheap but then I couldn't find a stock 1800 flywheel and this one is nice and light. I think it's that they refer to as the F1 Racing eBay flywheel in the states.
The B6T flywheel that I have is ridiculously heavy, it has a MASSIVE ring on the outside, quite enjoying the light flywheel, it makes shifting much smoother if you don't quite match the revs perfectly.

I weighed my 1800 flywheel & found it was the lighter of the two that were made so was happy to bung it in as i was under a bit of pressure at the time to use it, otherwise i probably would have had it lightened!
