Will take it for cert in feb. I have to fix a few thing that are not working.
I am getting a new drive shaft made and have to replace rear seal ,its leaking gearbox oil. Have to sort the speedometer , am using a rx7 fd gear box and it is electronic pickup. am getting a fc speedo drive and will try it in a few weeks. have to put a heat shield by extractors the brake and fuel lines are to close. It should get a cert easy.

Good stuff. I noticed the baffles on the exhaust pipe. I take it that was the final solution to the noise issues you were having?

Hi all. Just went for cert on the mx5 . Have failed on some basic things like not having lock washers, need a drive shaft loop, need to make bottom mounts for my radiator and have to lift my gearbox to correct my driveshaft angle. Hoping to have it all corrected in two weeks. Not long before its legal.

HA HA i wish.

Yes i know its more than two weeks. Thats what you get for having more than one project on the go. Have sold my 1979 VB 308 holden commodore. Have got the mx5 sorted now in the process of getting my rx8 going with the new engine conversion .

How much was the cert if you dont mind my asking? Did you need a drive shaft loop because u have a modified shaft/non o.e gearbox or is it just a cert requirement for any modified car?

my cert cost about 500 all certs are pretty much the same
most certifiers will ask for a drive shaft hoop as you are adding power to the engine
i had to for my turbo
its crazy you can put the engine and full running gear from a skyline into a silvia and still need a hoop
i think its just to be on the safe side

Not much Difference between the engines, both '92 + rx7s(batmans) and jc cosmos came out 13b twin turbo, but the JC came out with bigger intake ports i think, and have a better looking intake manifold ,in my opinion.
