Which rasies the question,Reading thru SoloMiata and they state that you can use a FC RX7 air flow meter,Does any one know if they mean a Turbo unit or Non turbo unit ?,I know the states had more non Turbo cars than turbo cars and 95% of cars in NZ are Turbo imports.
Any ideas?

i think the turbo unit has some boost features (not 100%) built into it id say they would be talking non turbo because of that

heres a turbo one for real cheap if someone wants to be a guinea pig

I'm running an RX7 AFM on my turbo'd 5 and I'm pretty sure its a NON turbo one. the turbo ones have different air temp sensors and some have different wiper values. Again im not 100% sure on this but im sure a google search wll clear it up.
You can't just add the afm though you also have to adjust the spring tension inside the unit.

Ive heard many mixed reports of this modification. With alot of people reporting no discernable benefit other than above 6500rpm, with loss of driveability at lower rpms. The concensus was that if the car was being used in competition, and you could get away with an RX7 AFM, then it might be worth it. But otherwise not so much.

Read a fairly in-depth study of it which concluded that standard NA6 AFM reaches flow limit at 6000rpm, so its only above that you gain from the RX7 AFM (apparently also used in 626 and maybe easier to find there). Moderate FI applications shouldn't have the same problem with natural flow limit due to the unnatural induction method

.....Or none at all when the AFM is removed and replaced with a map sensor and over sized throttle body

airflow meter removal was my main reason for getting the link ecu the easy ability to turbo was a bonus
