BFMR Engine etc into MX5...

Post by mxslide » Tue Sep 09, 2008 6:10 pm

Now Ive done my research and know i cant use the manifolds etc,

I just happened to get BFMR for a low $600, missing few parts like rear lights & glass but it still runs fine/drives.

I know that putting the motor in is fairly straight foward, what i was wondering is should I swap the BFMR engine loom and computer across as well or use the MX5 one...

Obviously advantages and disadvantages of each, And is it just me or is the engine loom of an MX5 wound in with all the rest? (lights etc) with my silvia they were seperate, made life easy...

Your thoughts and feed back will be appreciated!

You'll be wanting the MX5 loom, unless you have a cunning plan to use the BFMR distributor ;)

Somewhere on aus-cartalk.com is a writeup by sabretooth on doing this kind of transplant... HTH.
