Today I re-plumbed the blow off hose to "T" off a different vac hose. Wow what a difference it releases on every gear change, before I could hear the waste gate chuffing at lower boost gear changes and had spent too much time and money trying different BOV's thinking that was the problem.
Anyway under boost it runs way too rich so rich it drops off the bottom of the O2 wide band range (11.1 afm) so I have some room for more boost. So I adjusted to length of the waste gate actuator rod, and air/fuel up to about 12.4 under boost at about 4500rpm. And holy crap it went like a rocket, but started to knock

so I had to back off the boost again - I have no idea what it’s boosting as I did not have the gauge fitted - it was just bordeom fiddling.
What timing should I have at idle? And are there any hoses I need to disconnect or anything to do before setting the timing?

Hi Gaz
suggest you aim for an AFR of something lower if that's the case... 11.x : 1 or so
I didn't think the NB timing was adjustable, but the FM maps are something like ~15* timing (absolute) at 12psi at 4500rpm. 20* seems about the ragged edge with good octane at lower altitudes. Not sure how that works with the e-manage tho! You need to enter the timing difference between that and the stock value, or something?

are you running my default timing map i loaded in to the emanage when i set it up for you????
try an retune your afr's to about 11.5-12:1
12.5:1 is too lean on an NB at anything over 6 psi...Richen it up a bit then re do your timing.
You can data log your boost if youve hooked in the boost sensor into the emanage.(in fact the timing map wont work if you dont have the map sensor hooked up and set up for my map) what map sensor did you get in the end??
with the emanage DATA LOG IS YOUR FRIEND! USE IT AND LEARN TO LOVE IT

Thanks, but no I haven't done the eManage yet

I was just screwing around today and decided to play with the boost. I assumed it should be 5 deg less than a standard timing. I haven't checked to see yet. Of course the best thing would be just to put in the eManage

Ok ignore all that, Jif is on the ball as usual. Seems the NB does not has
an adjustable CAS (Cam Angle Sensor). Well at least I know where I should
end up once I get the EManage in... need a Round ToIT.

just remembered... some NB folks have made it adjustable by slotting the CAS mounts/brackets :]
