Turbo MX5's in Christchurch

Post by biff » Wed May 02, 2007 12:22 pm

Hi all,
I am looking for some help (at last) getting my turbo up and running.
Heres what I have:
* A brand new HKS (not a copy) Turbo Manifold
* A reconditioned T28 Hybrid turbo - The perfect size for the MX5 - no play and in top condition
* A Evo VII Intercooler (Used) but in fantastic condition - Better flow than the cleap ebay or trademe jobs
* A brand new Greddy Type RS Blow of valve
(Purchased ages ago from Chris)

So if anyone has done a DIY or has a car I can have a look at that would be great.
Cheers all
Biff

Hey Biff

Welcome to the club, it's always good to get a blow j..... errr a turbo on your little baby, gives it the life she always needed.

Same here, I can send photo's if nothing else. Some places on TradeMe sell alloy (I think) bends, these may work out cheaper that the silicon bends, the straight bits are not so expensive (in comparrison).

Good luck, I'll be keen to see the results.

Yep that would be great, I also lined up some “reduced” prices on Konie’s last year, they were from the importers in ChCh.
Drop me a line at biff@xtra.co.nz (biff@xtra.co.nz), with your email address and I’ll give you my phone number
Cheers

yeah..dont use silicon bends unless you absolutley have to.... they are STUPIDLY EXPENSIVE....
i got my silicon couplers off the net from ATP turbo. they were WAAAAAAY cheaper than kiwi places,( I got enough to do my car TWICE for around $200 landed). and i could get them in black for that stealthly look instead of bright blue. Couplers should be used as little as possible and bends should be done by welding pieces of "donuts" to the straight pipes. have a look at my cardomain page at my IC pipes to see what i mean.

happy to send any other pics you want from my engine bay etc.
