I know a lot of the miataturbo DYI guys in the US are running with the Megasquirt - not sure of the backup tho'? In NZ I would probally stick with the eManage blue (or ultimate if a full standalone is needed).

FYI guys we've had people test the MSPNP MM9093 (for 90-93 Miata's/MX-5's) in Australia and the UK... it's been working well and I'd expect the same on NZ cars...

The MM9495 for 94-95 1.8l Miata's/MX5's was just released, it hasn't been tested overseas yet but time will tell. I don't expect any issues.

If you take away the spot-on base map (for a stock car) that we put hours, maybe days of tuning into, and the knock input, boost control circuit, launch control circuit, snazzy case, 4 bar map sensor with realtime baro correction (on the MM9495), the fact your AC will actually work (which won't be the case if you DIY one on a Miata), the months of testing to make sure everything is just right, and the first hand support capability we have with these cars because of all the effort we've put into this, then yeah, that's all it is ;).
