Turbo install progress

Post by Miatamad » Fri Nov 10, 2006 10:12 am

Its still a work in progress - I still have the shielding etc to install as well as the new injectors (460cc ex RX7), and my wideband (Innovate LC-1).

I intend to run low boost off the wastegate in the first instance then add my electronic boost controller to 'up the boost' after getting the Link ECU dialed in correctly.

All in all its been easier than I thought (having said that I have not started it yet- it may still go horribly wrong).

Any questions just ask.

Chris

looking good!!!

The only comment to make is that you may want to plug that O2 sensor port and put your wideband further down the exhaust.....Widebands dont like getting cooked and overtemping and it will shorten thier lifespan...
Narrow band sensors are ok in that position as they can handle the heat a bit better

Turbo install progress

Thanks,

I currently have the n/b in there with the wideband being installed at the bottom of the down pipe where a CAT would go.

Cannot wait to start it up – hoping to have it running tomorrow night (blimmin work keeps getting in the way)

Turbo install progress

I would love to say “YES – and I love it!!!” – but I can’t.

CEO has been over for Monday and my boss has been in the country for the rest of the week – thus work dinners all the time.  He flies out Friday afternoon – so Friday night the injectors go in and start her up (hoping).  Saturday I will install the wideband (at the bottom of the downpipe) – leaving only the job of having the downpipe to muffler section to be fabricated early next week.

Its blimmin hard being sooo close but so far from being boosted.
